Install
In AnythingLLM, open Agent Skills → MCP Servers, click Edit MCP config, paste the entry and save, then click Refresh. "type": "streamable" is the HTTP transport the shadcn.io server speaks.
Check it
shadcnio should show under MCP Servers, with its tools. In a workspace chat, start the agent with @agent, then ask:
The agent calls whoami and answers with your account and how many calls you have left this minute.
Your first component
AnythingLLM can't read your project, so say your framework, and for React the primitives:
The agent calls search_components, get_component and get_install_plan, and answers with every file, its path and the packages to install. For React, get_install_command gives one shadcn add command instead.
Manage the connection
Back in Agent Skills → MCP Servers, edit the config to change the URL after you regenerate your token, then click Refresh.

The agent doesn't call the tools
Start the message with @agent: plain chat doesn't use agent skills. And pick a model that supports tool calling: smaller local models call tools less reliably.
