Overview

An integration grid section for React with Base UI, written for Noteweir, a fictional tool that files meeting notes in a database, and its Notion connection. A compact header names the page being shaped, with the mark pair (Noteweir's own tile and Notion's neutral lettermark tile) at its end. Under a band rule, the start column is a gallery of six Notion block types, Heading, To-do, Callout, Table, Toggle and Code, in cells that share their hairlines: a greyscale sketch, the name, one line about it and an Add button with a count of how many are on the page. Behind a split divider, a framed window holds the outline of the meeting-note page Noteweir would write: each block has Move up, Move down and Remove buttons in a fixed-height, scrollable list, and the count of blocks comes from the list. A block type may sit on the page twice, so the third Add is held back and says why in words. A polite status line, present from load, reports each action and that nothing is sent to Notion. Notion is named in text only, with no logo, colour or wordmark; the blocks and the page are example data.

FAQ

Does Add put anything in Notion?

No. Add, the move buttons and Remove change the outline in this page only, and the status line says so each time: "Nothing was sent to Notion". To make it real, save the ordered list of block types and have your server append those blocks, in that order, to each new meeting page it creates.

Are these real Notion blocks?

Yes. Heading, to-do, callout, table, toggle and code are all block types Notion has, and TYPES lists them by name with a line of description. Add or remove entries there, and give any new kind a sketch in Sketch.

Why is the third Add held back?

The block lets a type sit on the page twice, a limit set by MOST at the top of the file. At the limit the Add button stays focusable but does nothing, the cell reads "On the page twice", and the status line says "Remove one to add another". Raise or drop the limit to suit your template.

How do I reorder with the keyboard?

Every block row has Move up and Move down buttons named for the block and its place ("Move Callout 2 up"). Focus stays on the button you pressed, so you can press it again to keep moving the block, and the status line says where it landed. Remove puts focus on the next row's Remove button, or on the list if none is left. At the first or last place the move button is marked unavailable but stays focusable.

Can I show Notion's logo?

The block names Notion in text and ships no logo, colour or wordmark. Its tile is a neutral lettermark, No in a muted square, in an icon slot that a code comment marks: drop in the official mark only if you have the rights to use it under the owner's brand guidelines, and never redraw it.

How does it fit on a phone, in right-to-left layouts and with reduced motion?

On a phone the gallery stays two across with the one-line descriptions hidden, and the outline falls below with a rule between; the small sketches in the outline rows hide on the narrowest widths so the names have room. In a right-to-left layout the columns flip. The outline's list has a fixed height and scrolls, so adding blocks never moves the page. The entrance is a CSS transition dropped under reduced motion.
