Overview

A picture-led award split for React with Base UI. In a hairline frame with + marks on its corners, the ceremony is drawn in greyscale: a curtained stage with a screen, a spotlight, a lectern with the presenter and three rows of the audience's heads and shoulders. Beside it are the award's name as the heading, a bold-lead sentence and a description list: programme, category, the date, the venue's city and who accepted the award, with an initials avatar and a job title. Where the featured award is a plaque, this one is a moment. It is built from Avatar, Data List, Guides, inline SVG and your theme's tokens, with a CSS transition for the entrance. The programme, venue and people are made up for the example: replace them with your own.

FAQ

Can I use a real photo of the ceremony?

Yes. The scene is one Scene component inside a frame; replace it with an img (give it an empty alt, because the details are in the text, or a real description if the picture says something the text doesn't). Keep the frame's size classes so the split keeps its shape.

How is the scene drawn?

In SVG with a 400 by 300 box that fills the frame. Every shade is the foreground colour mixed into the background, lighter toward the back, so it works in light and dark themes. The audience is computed from three row settings at the top of the file, so you can add a row or change how many heads fit.

Is the avatar a photo?

No: it is the catalog Avatar with initials, hidden from assistive technology because the name sits right beside it. Add an AvatarImage with the person's photo if you have one.

How is the date written?

The date is fixed in the data (an ISO day), formatted in a fixed locale and time zone so the server and the browser print the same text, and wrapped in a time element with the ISO day as its datetime.

Are the award and the people real?

No. Xanthe, the Willowwick Awards, the venue and the person accepting are invented for the example.

Where does the scene go on a phone?

Under the details, 200 pixels tall, so the heading stays at the top of the block. From lg it takes the start column while the details come first in the document, so a keyboard and a screen reader meet the heading first.
