About
Use it when a card should answer one question at a time: what was May's share? The reader picks a month and the donut highlights that slice and prints its value. When all values matter at once, a labeled pie or a bar chart shows them without a control.
Five monthly slices sit on a ring. The selected month's slice extends past the others, a thin band of the same color wraps it, and the center shows its count above "Visitors".
Installation
Usage
<script lang="ts">
import ChartPieInteractive from "@/components/charts/chart-pie-interactive.svelte";
</script><ChartPieInteractive />Customize
- The definition is derived from the active month, not static:
chartDefinition(activeMonth)builds it, memoized on the month, so a new pick redraws the highlight and the center. - Three
radialArcmarks share onepie()output: every slice, the active slice withouterRadius10px out, and an outer band fromradius + 12toradius + 25. - A
radialTextat the center prints the active row'sdesktopcount; "Visitors" sits under it invar(--muted-foreground). - The select's swatches take each month's
colorstraight fromchartConfig: the select is outsideChartContainer, which sets the--color-<month>variables only inside itself. ChartContainerisaspect-square w-full max-w-[300px], a little larger than the other donuts, to fit the outer band.
FAQ
How does the select drive the chart?
The active month lives in state (React useState, a Vue ref, Svelte $state or a Solid signal), the select writes it, and the definition is derived from it through chartDefinition(activeMonth): when the month changes, the chart redraws with the new slice highlighted and its count in the center.
How are the bigger slice and the outer ring drawn?
Three radialArc marks over the same slices: all five, then the active one with outerRadius 10px past the ring, then the same slice again as a thin band from 12px to 25px out, in the same color. The last two sit in a decorative layer, so the pointer reads the ring under them.
What sets the number in the middle?
A radialText at the center prints the active row's desktop value, with "Visitors" under it. It's built from the same state as the highlight, so the two always agree.
How do the select's swatches match the slices?
Each option's swatch is the month's color from chartConfig, the same var(--chart-N) its slice paints with through --color-<month>, so the list doubles as the chart's legend. The select sits outside ChartContainer, where those variables aren't set, so it reads the config.

children?Snippet
What sits under the chart inside the container: a ChartLegend.
tooltip?(ChartTooltipContentOptions & { class?: string }) | false
ChartTooltipContent's options (indicator, hideLabel, labelFormatter…) for the default body, or false for TanStack's own tooltip body.
- Type
(ChartTooltipContentOptions & { class?: string }) | false
renderTooltip?Snippet<[ChartTooltipBodySnippetContext]>
A whole tooltip body of your own, in place of ChartTooltipContent: it gets the focused points (each with its datum, group and color). A snippet.
- Type
Snippet<[ChartTooltipBodySnippetContext]>
defaultIndex?number
The category whose tooltip shows before any pointer, as Recharts' defaultIndex.
height?number
A fixed height in pixels for the chart, in place of the container's.
aspectRatio?number
A width-to-height ratio for the chart, in place of the container's height.
initialWidth?number
The width the chart renders at before it's measured.
onFocusChange?(point: ChartPoint | null) => void
Called as the focused point changes: a pointer, a key or a tap.
- Type
(point: ChartPoint | null) => void
onFocusGroupChange?(points: readonly ChartPoint[]) => void
Called with every point at the focused category (a stacked or grouped chart's).
- Type
(points: readonly ChartPoint[]) => void
onSelect?(point: ChartPoint | null) => void
Called when a point is clicked or picked with Enter.
- Type
(point: ChartPoint | null) => void
--color-<key>?color
Each config key's color (its theme color in light and dark), set on the container: the marks paint with var(--color-<key>).
ChartTooltipContent
<div>
pointsreadonly ChartPoint[]
The focused points, from the tooltip's context. ChartContainer passes them to its default body; a body of your own passes its context's.

false
hideIndicator?boolean
Hides each row's color indicator.
- Default
false

color?string
One indicator color for every row, in place of each series' own.
labelFormatter?(label: string, points: readonly ChartPoint[]) => string
Formats the label (the config's label or the category), with the rows' points: a date written out, a unit.

Helpers
chartTooltip?(settings?: ChartTooltipSettings) => ChartDefinitionOptions
defineChart's second argument for a chart with a tooltip: what a pointer or a key focuses (group-x, each category's series, by default), the focus ring, and the host ChartContainer draws its body in.
- Type
(settings?: ChartTooltipSettings) => ChartDefinitionOptions
chartTheme?ChartTheme
defineChart's theme in the site's tokens: the text, the grid and the palette (--chart-1 to --chart-5).
chartColors?(config: ChartConfig, keys?: readonly string[]) => { domain: string[]; range: string[] }
defineChart's color: each series key (in config order, or keys') painted var(--color-<key>), for marks with a color channel.
- Type
(config: ChartConfig, keys?: readonly string[]) => { domain: string[]; range: string[] }
chartLinearScale?() => LinearScale
A value axis drawn as Recharts draws its default one: zero in the domain, five nice ticks. Pass it as a factory: y: { scale: chartLinearScale }.
