Overview
Turn a list of commits into release notes, with this changelog generator for Solid with Ark UI. A header names Releasewright, a release notes tool, and a hairline frame holds a toolbar band, two cells and an action foot. The toolbar has a version Input and an "Include authors" Switch. At the start twelve typed commits are Checkbox rows, each with its message, short hash, type word, author initials and lines added and removed, with "Select all" and "Clear" above the list. At the end the notes are assembled from the commits you ticked, grouped under Features, Fixes and Other changes, under a heading made from the version and a fixed release date, in Tabs that show a Preview or the Markdown itself. The Shine Button, Copy Markdown, puts the real text on the clipboard. Both lists are held-height scroll regions, and the frame is ruled by Guides.
FAQ
What stays local, and how do I wire it for real?
The twelve commits are typed at the top of the file, nothing is read from a repository, and no model writes the notes. The grouping is a plain rule by commit type. To make it real, load your commits from your Git host (message, hash, author, type from a conventional-commit prefix) into the same Commit shape and keep the rest.
How are commits grouped?
By their type word. feat goes under Features, fix under Fixes, and docs, chore, perf and refactor under Other changes. A group with no ticked commits does not appear, and the same grouping builds the preview and the Markdown, so they never disagree.
What does Copy Markdown copy?
The heading, ## 1.8.0 - 16 Oct 2026, then a ### heading per group and one - message (hash) line per ticked commit, with the author's initials added after the hash when "Include authors" is on. It uses the clipboard, and if the browser blocks that the status line says so. With nothing ticked, the button answers in words instead of copying a bare heading.
Why is the date fixed?
The release date is a typed ISO string shown as day, month and year, so the demo reads the same on every visit and in every locale. Nothing is computed from the clock. In a real tool you would pass the date of the release.
Is it usable with a keyboard and a screen reader?
Each checkbox is named by its commit message and described by its hash, type, author and line counts. The count "7 of 12 commits" is derived, the tabs are a named tab list, and one polite status line says what changed. The tint on a ticked row is backed by the checkbox, so colour is never the only signal.
