Overview

A mobile release changelog for React with Base UI, written for Thumbwell, a fictional habit app. A split puts the copy first in the reading order and the drawing first on a wide screen. The copy is a title, a sentence, a row of three build buttons ("4.12.0 (812)", each with its day) and the chosen build as an article: its title, the version, build number and day, the platforms as outline badges, the store's What's new lines as a list and, under a hairline, the download size and the minimum system. The drawing is a greyscale phone showing the store's page for that build, with the same lines and a platform line at its foot; it is decoration and is hidden from assistive technology, since the article carries the same text. Choosing a build redraws both and moves nothing, because every build's article sits unseen in the same cell. On a phone the copy comes first and the phone under it. It's built from Guides, Badge and Toggle Group, with CSS transitions for the entrance and your theme's tokens for every colour. For app marketing pages and in-app release notes. The builds are example data, and nothing is read from a store.

FAQ

How do I change the builds?

Edit BUILDS at the top of the file, newest first. A build has a version, a build number, an ISO date, a title, the notes lines the store shows, its platforms, the size and needs text and the line the phone's page ends on. The phone and the article both read the same record, so they cannot disagree. Dates are fixed, never computed from today.

How does choosing a build work?

The three buttons are a single-choice toggle group that always keeps one pressed. Pressing one redraws the article and the phone, and a visually hidden polite line says which build is showing. The arrow keys move between the buttons. The page does not move, because the article of every build is laid out unseen in the same grid cell and the tallest sets its height.

Is the drawn phone a screenshot?

No. It is built from boxes and text in your theme's greyscale, so it follows light and dark mode and stays sharp at any size. It is marked as decoration because the article beside it has the same text. Swap the drawing for a real screenshot if you prefer, and keep the article.

Where does the app icon go?

The tile at the top of the phone is a plain tile with two typed letters. Replace its contents with your own icon. Nothing in the block names or imitates a real app store.

How does it fit on a phone?

Below lg the layout is one column: the title and sentence, the build buttons (which wrap), the article, and the drawn phone last, set off by a hairline. Nothing moves sideways at 320 pixels.

What moves, and what happens with reduced motion?

The header fades up once on load, with a CSS transition; with reduced motion it is off and the block simply appears. Choosing a build changes the text at once.
